Yarn care

If you are using more than one skein of our hand-dyed yarn in a garment, we suggest that you work more than one skein together, i.e., work two rows in one skein, next two rows in another skein, etc., in order to ensure an even colour distribution over the whole garment.

• Phenomenal
  Called Phenomenal because it's phenomenal as in great, and phenomenal as in full of sensory phenomena. Spun in the UK from 55% Alpaca, 25% Merino, 20% nylon; 333m per 100g. A very soft, silky smooth & cosy 4ply yarn. Medium spun.
  Recommended for: socks, gloves, hats, scarves, shawls, baby clothes & jumpers.

• Sappho
  Spun in the UK from 75% Organic Merino, 25% Silk; 333m per 100g. A soft & cosy yarn with a subtle sheen. Medium spun.
  Recommended for: socks, gloves, hats, scarves, shawls, baby clothes & jumpers.

• Socrates SuperSock
  80% Superwash Merino, 20% Nylon; 330m per 100g. A soft, lofty & strong yarn. Medium spun.
  Recommended for: socks, gloves, hats, scarves, shawls, baby clothes & jumpers.

• VG SuperSock
  75% Pure New Wool, 25% Nylon; 425m per 100g. A soft & strong yarn. Medium to tightly spun.
  Recommended for: socks, gloves, hats, scarves, shawls, baby clothes & jumpers.

• Gloriana
  80% Superwash Bluefaced Leicester, 20% Nylon; 360m per 100g. A soft, lustrous, true 4ply yarn. Fairly tightly spun.

• Muse
  70% Superwash Merino, 20% Cashmere, 10% Nylon; 400m per 100g. A luxuriously soft, true 4ply yarn. Fairly tightly spun.

• Utopia
  100% Superwash Merino; 345m per 128g. A thicker 4ply yarn, with a high twist to give it strength.
  Recommended for: socks, gloves, hats, scarves, baby clothes & jumpers.

• Christabel
  85% Superwash Merino, 15% Nylon; 400m per 100g. A luxuriously soft, plump, true 4ply yarn.
  Recommended for: socks, gloves, hats, scarves, shawls, baby clothes & jumpers.

• Socrates SoleMate
  80% Superwash Merino, 20% Nylon; 360m per 100g. A soft, true 4ply yarn.

• Lambswool/Cashmere/Angora
  80% Lambswool, 10% Cashmere, 10% De-haired Angora; 280m per 100g. A luxuriously soft, plump, thicker 4ply/thin DK weight yarn.

• Helios
  50% Merino, 50% Silk; 350m per 100g. A soft and luxuriously silky yarn. Medium spun.

• Luna
  60% Bluefaced Leicester, 40% Mulberry Silk; 750m per 100g. A soft, lustrous, 2ply lace yarn, which drapes very well because of the silk content.

• Titania
  20% cashmere, 20% silk, 60% merino; 2600m per 100g. An exquisite, light, soft 2ply gossamer yarn, perfect for knitting heritage lace.

• Eos
  50% Merino, 50% Silk; 700m per 100g. A soft and luxuriously silky yarn. Medium spun.
