No worries, I never thought about the thickness of the blanket squares so I think I'll probably strand the yarn across, cheers ;-)

Hi Linda, sorry it's taken me a while to get back to you, I've been weighing it up - the squiggles are there partly so you don't have a large portion of single layer knitting on the hares background: the resting yarn you carry across is sort of important to the square as a whole. On the other hand, it might not matter too much. See, I couldn't make my mind up; I would carry the yarn across for the sake of the shape of the square as a whole, but really if you don't want to I expect it will be fine.

Hi Jane, is it worth using separate pieces of yarn for the 3 background squiggles rather than stranding the yarn across?

I got my package today and I love the new colour and the new squares. I still have 2 squares to do for January so I'd better get a move on. ;-)

Hi Gill,
I have been soaking mine well, then squeezing out the excess water, then just laying them flat and pressing down the edges and leaving them to dry near a heat source.
Mine vary quite dramatically between unblocked and blocked state; blocking seems to make them grow nicely. Good news about them being the same size, that will be useful later on ;)

Two squares knitted and they are the same size! Nothing short of a miricle given this is my first attempt at intarsia type knitting. What do you find is the best way to block them?

I just love the colours and the yarn knits beautifully.

Either is fine. I am blocking mine as I go, that might work well since they can all just lie flat until we are ready to use them. Also, might help us to know that our tension is remaining the same as we go, so we our squares don't start to shrink or grow as we progress.

Just finished square 1 (pictures on Ravelry). Wondering whether you advise blocking now or nearer to sewing up time?
